A powerful middle and outside hitter, the Varsity Blues women's volleyball program is excited to announce the commitment of Mia McCabe for the 2024-25 season.

"We are excited for Mia to join our program," said Varsity Blues head coach Kristine Drakich. "She is a multi-sport athlete and a strong volleyball player who will contribute to our team in a variety of positions. Her versatility, work ethic and commitment to her own growth and her teammates will be a great addition to our program."

McCabe joins the Blues via Stratford District Secondary School and the KW Predators Volleyball Club. With her high school team, McCabe has served as team captain and was named team MVP. Meanwhile, she has also competed provincially with Team Ontario Red in 2022 and Team Ontario Black in 2023.

"I met Kristine [Drakich] when I was at a beach volleyball camp eight years ago in Stratford and it has been my dream to play for her and U of T ever since," said McCabe. "Every time I visit the campus I feel so connected to it and inspired to be here playing the sport I love."

McCabe is interested in U of T's Kinesiology program.
