Morphet commits to Tigers for 2022-23

Posted: Jun 13, 2022

Dalhousie Tigers men’s volleyball head coach Dan Ota is pleased to announce the commitment of Dillan Morphet for the 2022-23 season.

Morphet is a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Predators Volleyball Club and will be joining his Predators teammate Yassein Elsayed at Dalhousie.

The outside hitter and his Predators teammates won the Ontario Volleyball Association D1 provincial title earlier this spring and competed at nationals last month. Previously he was a member of the MAC Volleyball Club where he earned an OVA Award of Excellence and MAC’s Character Award.

The Hamilton, Ontario native also plays for St. Mary Catholic Secondary School’s volleyball team where he has earned team MVP honours all three years on the team.

Morphet was selected to Team Ontario’s beach volleyball program in both 2020 and 2021.

“I am super excited about Dalhousie next year given the quality of the school and the impressive coaching staff I will be developing under,” says Morphet. “I am looking forward to living in Halifax and being a part of the Tigers family.”

Morphet will be studying engineering at Dalhousie.

“Dillan is a promising outside attacker,” says Ota. “He has the length to dominate at the net, and he isn’t even close to reaching his potential yet. I am looking forward to assisting with his continued development in our program.”

The Tigers return to the court for their regular season home opener on Friday, October 23.
