HPC/Team Ontario Red
The HPC is an 8-day development camp focused on introducing a larger group of athletes to a high performance training environment.
Team Ontario Red coaches will be leading a variety of sessions with the athletes to help them develop their skills. Athletes will be presented with concepts relative to the university and international levels in order for them to better understand the steps they need to take in order to achieve their high performance goals. On the last days of HPC, athletes will be split into teams for a competition. The selection for the Team Ontario Red program will be made at the end of the HPC. The athletes selected to Team Ontario Red will train for a few days before they head to Canada Cup. This program is meant to give athletes an opportunity to implement the concepts learned during HPC in a competitive environment.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the HPC/Team Ontario Red will not run as usually programmed. Instead, we are hosting a Team Ontario Red Bubble where athletes will be encouraged to develop in a high performance training bubble environment.
*Our ability to run this training bubble will ultimately depend on government restrictions in July

Canada Games are the largest multi-sport event in Canada. There are over 5000 athletes competing in over 20 sports. They are held every two years, alternating between summer and winter games. The Canada Summer Games is next in rotation and has been moved from this summer to August 6-21, 2022.
With this in mind, the Team Ontario Canada Summer Games Training Group is designed in a two-year cycle. We are now preparing for the Canada Summer Games next August and we are looking to build a team now that has time to:
develop strong team culture
have an opportunity to train together multiple times
work with the coaching staff to develop training plans for this specific group of athletes to increase Ontario’s chances of being successful at the Canada Summer Games
