Predator Players Invited To National, Provincial and Regional Tryouts

The KW Predators Volleyball Club are very proud to announce that a number our athletes have been invited to tryout for the Canadian Junior National Team and the Ontario Provincial Team. In addition, 5 of our athletes have been selected to represent Region 3 at the Ontario Summer Games in Ottawa this summer.

Jaki Ellis and Becky Pavan will be traveling to Winnipeg on June 28 in hopes of securing a spot on the Junior National Team. The JNT will be competing in Mexico on July 20-28 at the NORCECA championships, hoping to help Canada qualify for the World Championships next summer.

Tory McCutcheon, Kelly Frittenburg, Laura Klein, Jaki Ellis and Becky Pavan have all been selected to attend the High Performance Camp at Humber College on July 2-7. From this camp, the Ontario Provincial teams will be selected. The Provincial teams will be competing in the NTTC tournament later this summer. Ellis and Pavan will only attend if they do not make the JNT.

Congratulations go out to a number of girls who have already been selected to high performance teams. Kaitlyn Krizmanich, a member of our 18U girls team, has been selected to the Ontario Provincial Beach team. She will be training throughout this summer and next summer in preparation for the Canada Summer Games in 2009.

Five girls from our 16U team, coached by Corinne Williams and Kelvin Hui, have been selected to the Region 3 team this summer. The girls include Kaitlyn Skinner, Meaghan Loveday, Mikaela Klie, Ariel Berkeley and Brieanne Gallant. As mentioned previously, these girls will be representing our region in the Ontario Summer Games later this summer.

Predators Banquet a SMASHING! Success

The KW Predators Volleyball Club put the final touches on a successful first season by holding a club banquet at the Beach Blast sand court facility in Toronto. With fifteen courts at their disposal, the Predators' players, coaches and parents enjoyed a full day of volleyball with everyone being involved in an age level tournament. After pool play, a barbecue dinner was served followed by the tournament playoffs. Tournament winners received Predator shirts supplied by Mojosports. The list of tournament winners include:

14U Girls - Elizabeth McLellan, Kayla Gaudette, Abbey McLellan
16U Girls - Mikaela Klie and Daniela Lazarevic
18U Girls - Daphne Andre-Morin and Becky Pavan
18U Boys - Ian Roberts and Steve Brodie
Coaches - Pat Daniels, Wayne Rabley and Alison Domm
Parents - Judy George, Steve McCutcheon, Denyse, Bill, and Matt Krizmanich

It was very fitting that an outstanding day ended an outstanding season.
