Last weekend the U17 girls finished 4th at the Challenge Cup held at
Scarborough College. Crippled with injuries to 3 of its best players,
the team played with a lot of heart and determination. The U17 Predators
won their pool and then beat the Peel Selects to move onto the semi-finals
where they had an outstanding match against Bugarski Cup champions Aurora
Storm. Fatigue and the lack of any substitutes then finally caught up
with the team in the bronze medal match after the girls won the first
game against Forest City but then lost the next two. Coach Wayne Rabley
was very proud of his team and "really couldn't ask for much more."
Libero Brittany Barnard was the team MVP with tireless defence and Hanna
Dabrowski played an important role in the team's success. Congrats ladies.
A job well done!
