Predators Get Out To A Fast Start
 

The Predators Volleyball Club got off to a fast start as they dominated the first two tournaments of the year. In the 17U tournament held at St. Benedict's High School in Cambridge on November 3, the 17U girls team, coached by Wayne Rabley, swept the competition to finish undefeated on the day and capture the top spot their zone. During round-robin play the Predators swept the Waterloo Tigers, the Cambridge Hawks and Georgetown Impact. After re-pooling, the Predators swept the Stratford Stingers before finishing the day by defeating the MAC Volleyball Club by 2 games to one.

The success continued on November 10 at the 18U zone tournament. The Predators club was well represented at the tournament held at St. Mary's High School in Hamilton, with three teams competing. The Predators 18U Purple team, coached by Paul Pavan, finished the day on top, followed by the Predators 17U team that was competing in it second tournament in as many weeks. The Predators 18U Purple team swept through round-robin play defeating the MAC Volleyball Club, the Brock Volleyball Club, Burlington Blaze and the Predators 18U Black team. It the crossover, the 18U Purple team defeated the 17U team to finish the day with a perfect record.

The Predators 17U team had a very successful tournament at the higher age division, sweeping all opponents on their way to the tournament final. The 17U team defeated the Stratford Stingers, the MAC 17U team, the Cambridge Hawks, and the Halton Hurricanes 17U team. The only blemish on their day was the loss to their 18U clubmates.

The Predators 18U Black team, coached by Dave LeCourtois and Jeff Shortt, also competed in the 18U tournament in St. Mary's and started slowly, but got stronger and stronger as the day progressed. The team lost close matches to the MAC Volleyball Club, the Brock Volleyball Club, Burlington Blaze and the Predators 18U Purple team, before rebounding to play their best volleyball of the day and defeat the Cambridge Hawks, 2 games to 0 to finish their day on a positive note.

The Predators 15U Purple team, coached by Scott Shantz, also competed on November 10 in Stratford, Ontario. In their first competition of the season, the girls started slowly by losing their first two match to the host Stratford Stingers and the Niagara Rapids. The team then found themselves, winning the rest of their matches to finish in the top four. The team defeated the Brant Tornadoes, the MAC Volleyball Club and Rapids Blue to finish the day with 6 wins and 4 defeats.
