A gold medal for the 18U Girls Purple team highlighted the end of the
Ontario Volleyball Association season for the Kitchener Waterloo Predators
Volleyball Club. At the 19U Girls Provincial Championship played on
April 12, the 18U Preds played flawless volleyball throughout the tournament
to capture the club's first Tier I provincial gold medal. In the final
the Predators overwhelmed an overmatched Waterloo Tigers team by score
of 25-8 and 25-12 to walk away with the championship. Three Preds were
selected to the Provincial all-star team; Jaki Ellis, Laura Klein, and
Becky Pavan. Two weeks later the 18U Girls Purple team tried to make
it a double, but fell short in losing in the Tier I 18U final to DRVC.
Jaki Ellis and Becky Pavan were again recognized as provincial all-stars.
The 15U Girls Purple team coached by Scott Shantz and Camille Taylor
finished their season on a very positive note by winning the Tier IV
gold medal the the 16U championships. The girls defeated a number of
higher ranked 15U teams to win the title and showed that they are a
team to be reckoned with in the future. Results for all teams are listed
